"This course extends the design process (from Studio 1) to include the development of software, the use of instrumentation and measurement techniques, and the consideration of scientific research and technological development within cultural, historical, and social contexts and values. Introduces fundamental principles and techniques of programming, including classes, objects, and methods. Surveys types of sensors and basic principles of circuit design (including Ohm’s Law, Kirchoff’s Laws, Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits). Supplies context in ideas about technical progress and scientific facts, the role of design in social institutions, and social issues facing technical professionals and knowledge domains. "
